The only way to make afternoon tea more indulgent…

…is to have the entire service delivered up to your room.

What a treat.

Darjeeling for both…

…and the most beautiful tea sandwiches. Smoked salmon, prosciutto, and egg salad. Little crêpes rolled with…

…roasted vegetables and cream cheese.

Warm scones, a half-dozen to share.

And a set of jams, marmalades, and preserves.

Honey from Baur au Lac’s own hives.

Clotted cream, most necessary.

A little of everything…

…and a fresh cup.

Onto the sweets.

Kumquat mousse on a spice crust.

Berries and cream.

Chocolate macaron.

Pistachio and raspberry tart.

P.S. We had the same service in the lobby lounge the day before. This is one of my favorite afternoon teas.
