Heading Back…

…to NYC. I’ve given up on trying to decide whether “home” is NYC or Hawai’i. They are both home ^_^

Big mahalo to everyone who made the last two months memorable and eye-opening…am still trying to digest it all. Honolulu lacks the excitement of NYC (and seemingly easy access to everything), but offers a style of living that NYC could only dream to capture. Thoughts for another day. In the meantime, wish me luck on this 10-hour Hawaiian Air flight…see you in the city!

Hi Kathie,I equally enjoy the posts on both Hawaii and NYC. I’m from Hawaii, now on the mainland, and my husband is from NYC so I can understand the pull of each location :-) I love going home but adore visiting NYC. I think your blog is a perfect blend of each while also writing about tea at other locales!Karen

Hi Karen! Thanks so much for your comment…having both NYC and Hawai’i in my life is the best of both worlds. I just wish the cities were not a 10-hour flight apart ^_^

Hi Kathy,I live in NYC and just returned from a week of vacation in Maui and Honolulu. I hit up some of the places in your Hawaii posts while I was on Oahu. I also equally enjoy your posts on both locations… I only got two coco puffs on my visit to Liliha and decided to do a last minute detour for a half dozen on the way to the airport! Thanks for all of your posts :)Irene

Ah, Hawaii home vs. NYC home. The eternal struggle. I’m 31, have lived in NYC for 13 years (Jesus!) and the internal struggle hasn’t gotten any easier. Oof.I just binged on two months worth of your posts (for some reason, in transitioning away from Google Readerand maybe in part because of the redesign?posts weren’t appearing in my feed) and now I’m totally homesick for Hawaii! I was there for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend and went to town on Liliha Baker coco puffs, CoCo Ichibanya curry, Andy’s sandwiches (Manoa Delight!) and Leonard’s. And I tried Manoa Glass for the first time and loved it. I was surprised how packed it was on a weekday morning. Oh Hawaii! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. Thanks for the great posts!
