What do you do on the weekends?
I like to stay in on Friday nights (too crazy out there ^_^), cook a decadent dinner at home and watch movies. Saturday morning, I wake up early. Brew a pot of tea (currently drinking this oolong), and take care of emails and odds bits. Around noon, I’ll head out for lunch. This week it is at Cafe Cluny.
My favorite table is the two-top that faces W4th Street…
The usual order, Frisée Salad aux Lardons.
It’s a classic complete with fourme d’ambert (even better when it gets all melty against the warm lardons) and little croutons, all tossed in a bacon vinaigrette and topped with a poached egg. A dusting of paprika to finish. I crave salads for weekend lunch….not the sissy, delicate sort of salad, but a REAL salad. One like this or the Salade au Poulet at Buvette. Clean but oh-so hearty.
And you can’t go wrong with the omelette. Three eggs and stuffed with goat cheese and spinach. Salad, hash browns, or fries on the side? Fries, of course.
