So good I went back twice during our two-week stay in London.

The restaurant is modeled after old Bombay cafés from the 1960s (more history). It’s open all day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and those lovely in-between hours where hot chai and a good book is perfection.

A Dishoom Tikka Roll with spicy charred chicken and tomato chilli jam.

Dishoom’s signature black daal…

…demanded a side of basmati rice and two types of naan. One with minced garlic and coriander. Another with hot melted cheddar (not traditional, but delicious).

Ending with mango (they also have malai and pistachio) kulfi on a stick…

….and hot chocolate chai. Amazing. Cocoa over the froth, melted dark chocolate mixed into the spicy drink. Decadent and warming but never too sweet. I tried the “naughty” chocolate chai on another visit…same thing with a shot of bourbon ^_^
