A little preview inside the new flagship location of Payard. It’s set to open next week on 74th St/3rd Ave…conveniently right across the street from Maison Kayser.

Check out these savory macarons!
 – Foie Gras and Chocolate
 – Blue Cheese with Fig Chutney
 – Squid Ink, Cream Cheese, and Olive Tapenade

I live near the Houston Street Payard, but would prefer visiting this location for three reasons: the ice cream counter, a larger selection of desserts exclusive to this location, and the salon de thé. It’s way in the back of the shop, cozy and oh-so French. Proper omelets, salads, and croque monsieur on the menu.

P.S. Those familiar with Payard’s original location on Lexington (closed in 2009) will recognize the light fixtures in the salon de thé. They’ve brought them back ^_^

    Our NYC apartment is just 3 blocks away from this new location! I used to eye the brown-papered glass windows praying that they would soon be opening (and not closing down; one never knows). This is such fantastic news! Thank you for sharing :) Let's meet here for tea and dessert whenever I'm in town! And then we can head over to Ladure, Sant Ambroeus or Lady M's after ;)

    Ahh so cool! Yes, definitely. Can't wait to see you…either in Hawai'i, NYC…or maybe Barcelona! So many great places in this area now, we should do all four PLUS maison kayser in one afternoon heheh ^_^
