My biggest mistake was not ordering a dozen more.
We visited Dynamo Donuts on Saturday morning. Our friend Pascal recently moved from NYC to SF and claimed they were the best doughnutsever. How could we resist?
We started with Caramel de Sel, a yeast doughnut with dark salted caramel dripping off the edges. The only thing that could have made this better was if they injected the caramel directly into the doughnut (like the peanut butter and jelly doughnuts at Doughnut Plant).
A sip of coffee and alternating bites of the Ginger Orange. That would be ginger doughnut base with an orange glaze.
A cake doughnut for balance. Spiced Chocolate. I had this same flavor the day before at Four Barrel Coffee with Noelle. Look in the top right corner ^_^
Toasted Coconut, with rough, irregular shavings anchored by the glaze. Wild.
Whole blueberries in ever single bite of this Blueberry Cornmeal doughnut.
And then there was the Maple Glazed Bacon Apple. As spectacular as it sounds.
Six sealed in a box. And then…what’s that back there? I leaned over the counter…perhaps a bit too aggressively. What IS that? Giant fritters, dark, beyond golden. Some still in the fryer, others straight out. Hot, icing drizzles.
Raspberry Fritters. With an Elderflower Glaze. Want?
