In The South of France…

…we took the TGV from Paris to Avignon.

We rented a home in Domazan. Off the beaten path (the GPS couldn’t find it ;), but at the same time still central so that we could drive to many cities in less than an hour.

And we did! We went to Nimes

…and Pont du Gard.

We went to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

….and Baux-de-Provence

…where we found this little shiny, heheh. I get more satisfaction when allocating money towards experiences as opposed to material goods, but this one is an exception.

And there was Arles, of course.

On the day we drove to Cannes (just a 3-hour drive), we stopped in Aix-en-Provence.

And then, ahh Cannes!!

Cannes was our “home base” for the second half of our trip in the south. We stayed at the residences of Le Grand Hotel right on La Croisette.

Ideal for people watching and afternoon (plus morning and evening!) rosé on the terrace.

If we had more time, I would have loved spending a few nights each at the stunning InterContinental Carlton Cannes and Hotel Martinez. Next time! Because we will be back for sure.

From Cannes, we traveled to Monaco. This is the “old” Monaco…

…and this is Monte Carlo/the “new” Monaco.

We had an amazing dinner at Hotel de Paris that I’m still dreaming about.

Between the cheese course and dessert, we stepped out onto the terrace to catch the quarterly pyrotechnic competition in Monaco. The skies looked as if it was raining gold.

There was St. Paul de Vence

…and finally the Cap d’Antibes, home to Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc. I’ve had this fantasy hotel on my radar since I was in middle school so you can just imagine… ;)

No chance that you stopped by Farinoman Fou in Aix en Provence?

Thanks Genesee! It's totally doable, all you need is a car and good GPS system ;)Hi Emily! Oh man, I wish I knew about Farinoman Fou earlier – just googled it and the bread looks amazing. I think we'll have to make a return trip to Aix ^-^

Are meals experiences or material objects?
