Duck, Strawberry Gazpacho, and Espresso Spuma

Snapshots from dinner at NoMad.

This is actually a repeat meal. Our dinner there last week was a complete bust and the restaurant graciously invited us back for a redo.

Warm zucchini bread to start…

…and sweetbread croustillant with parsley.

A Morning Glory Fizz while waiting on the appetizers. Scotch, absinthe, lemon and egg white.

Three appetizers shared between the three of us. A summer strawberry gazpacho with duck prosciutto.

Trout smoked with cucumber ribbons, buttermilk, and rye.

A bone marrow gratinée with parsley, shallots and anchovy.

I had bone marrow again with my entree, in the form of bone marrow-crusted beef with royal trumpets and parsnips.

Leah’s suckling pig confit with cherries, onions, and wild greens.

We agreed Bao’s entree was the best of the three. Duck roasted with peaches, dandelions and vadouvan.

Milk & Honey plated as a palate cleaner. This is what it looks like if you order the full Milk & Honey off the dessert menu.

A pot of tieguanyin (tea is from In Pursuit of Tea).

Peanut butter palette with milk chocolate and popcorn.

An “affogato” with espresso spuma.

Five Swiss cheeses with warm raisin-walnut bread…

…and then a peek at the rooftop.

Glad we sat in the atrium though – too chilly for outside ^_^

I am somewhat obsessed with their croustillant. Something about the salty, flaky taste that stays with you- quite possibly the best bar snack for one of their cocktails! Was this actually Thursday night? Mr. T and I were dining on the rooftop that night:)

Hi Roze! Yes, it was Thursday night! I saw your tweet mentioning that you'd be there that night so I was hoping to run into you again ^_^ Alas it was around 11pm by the time we went up the roof and so dark that we could barely see anything!

Ah nuts! We probably were just walking out around then. Maybe next time we can plan something- have fun in Mexico City!
