Dessert Professional’s 19th Annual Top Ten Pastry Chefs

Thank you to Robyn for the above photo taken on Monday evening at the 19th Annual Top Ten Pastry Chefs. That’s Max on the right, and he’s holding dessert from Craig Harzewski of Naha in Chicago. There was a chocolate beignet (fried to order! liquid inside!) on the plate but we devoured that already.

The prettiest dessert came from Nathaniel Reid of Norman Love Confections. Picture-perfect Caramel-Pecan Sable Bretons. Glossy tops, gold-dusted pecans…they look like little jewels. But my favorite was a modest mango and lilikoi taipoca pudding by Chris Hanmer from The School of Pastry Design.

I ate cake balls from Christina Tosi, and wanted to take home mini pastries from Bosie Tea Parlor…Damien’s darjeeling tarts make for an amazing late night snack.
