No point in trying to be productive on late Saturday afternoon. Especially when the weather is this beautiful.
So off we go to The NoMad, the Library Room to be exact. “Double-Barrel” on the right and “Paris is Burning” on the left – London Dry Gin, mezcal, St. Germain, pineapple, lemon, and angostura bitters.
Savory bites – Steak Tartare, cornichons and a tower of toasted brioche…
…followed by the Fruits de Mer, so whimsical. Scallops and horseradish at the center, crab and avocado to the left, followed by raw scallops, and lobster, and a single oyster with “snow” mignonette. But the best of them all?
Uni! Of course. Plated with apple gelee and two tiny dollops of caviar.
A second cocktail and dessert just after the sun goes down. Lemon custard tucked into an almond shortbread disk and sweet ricotta. Then it’s back home, we’re making The NoMad Hotel
