NYC: Mondrian SoHo

One of my favorite ways to spend a late weekend afternoon.

Shopping along the quieter streets of Soho and then stopping at Mondrian SoHo just before the sun sets.

We come here mainly because the dining room of Imperial No. Nine is gorgeous, a sort of Alice in Wonderland meets sophisticated greenhouse complete with chandeliers.

The food is not great, but you can’t do wrong with fresh oysters, a pot of tea…

…or perhaps the sparkling and (very) spicy ginger seltzer. And plenty of good conversation.

Too funny! I'm headed to NY in May to give a speech and booked a room for 3 nights at the Mondrian. Fair enough on the food notice, but sounds like it'd be good for drink if nothing else. Thanks for the 411, Kathy!
