Honolulu, Hawai’i: Breakfast at Longhi’s

Breakfast! Longhi’s, 8:30am. Ala Moana is rather peaceful in the morning.

I arrived an hour early to finish some work at the nearby Honolulu Coffee Company. A cup of Tea by Tealeaves/”T” to encourage productivity. The last time I was at Ala Moana this early in the morning was when I worked (remember this incident?) at Honolulu Coffee Company in the baking/pastry department. I miss the scent of warm oatcakes and banana bread from the oven…and my mall employee discount.

Met Nathan over this hot plate of Blueberry-Ricotta Pancakes. Longhi’s is the only place in Honolulu where you can find ricotta pancakes. Fluffy with fat blueberries popping in every bite, a drizzle of maple syrup and there’s no complaints, plates fast wiped clean. Craving some savory to balance sweet, we also shared…

…the traditional Eggs Benedict. Energized for the day!

Hi Kathy, I've always loved breakfast at Longhi's for the great food, service, spacious, yet personal atmosphere, and the spectacular view. The checkered floor is a plus! :)How do their eggs benedict compare with other places?

I do love breakfast at Longhi's – especially on Sunday. I really do need to try something other than Eggs Benedict though!Alan

Okay now I am craving pancakes so badly. Is 3am an inappropriate time for pancakes? …Naaaah that's totally fine.

Hi Cassaendra! The eggs benedict were amazing, such a reliable classic. They serve it on thick slices of baguette (instead of the usual english muffin). Heard the lobster benedict is great as well, but have yet to try that version ^_^Hi Alan! Yes!! Totally agree with you!! Wish there were more places like this in Honolulu…Hi Sara! Any time can be pancake time in our world!! ^_^

Ahh, I honeymooned in HI (Maui though) and this post makes me miss it. It was probably the most relaxing and peaceful 2 weeks of my life. The pancakes look fantastic :)

Hi! I came across your blog on Serious Eats. I enjoy viewing your photos of food. Longhi's is not the only place on Oahu that offers ricotta pancakes. In fact, Cream Pot in Waikiki has a ricotta souffle pancakes on the menu and they're amazing!
