Mele Kalikimaka! And 203 Dalmatians.

I’m not sure how this happened but we managed to completely forget about the Christmas Tree until yesterday afternoon. There’s was no time cut …good job guys! We cleared out a storage area so that we can put the tree on wheels and roll the whole thing into storage and roll it back out next year, heheh.

I’m in charge of the dalmatians. In the 1990s, McDonald’s gave 101 Dalmatians for Happy Meal toys. We ate at least 101 Happy Meals to collect every dalmatian.

A few years later they did 102 Dalmatians. Again we had 102 Happy Meals to secure every single one. We visited each McDonald’s on Oahu and even some in NYC when we went on a family vacation. The freezer was full of mcnuggets and fries…mom eventually threw them out. But we got all the dalmatians! 203 in total.

They come out for Christmas, grouped in categories…dalmatians with hats…

…the soccer ball duo…

…a little village….

…and the musically inclined.

I could go on for more, but I think it’s best we stop now…

…just don’t forget Cruella de Vil ;) Mele Kalikimaka everyone!

WOW! We also have both of those sets but were able to get them as a boxed collectable so we didn't have to buy a jillion Happy Meals. Your way sounds more interesting – how did you collect them all without getting a bunch of extras?Mele Kalikimaka!Alan

Hi Alan! We would call the McDonalds before driving over to ask which they had in stock that week (they rotate the toys every Monday, or earlier if they sell out)…we had a routine down for sure hahah. We did end up with a bunch of doubles, but we didn't open those, and certain McDonald's would let us exchange them when they got new toys in. So much work…but pretty fun too ;)
