La Colombe

Good morning! The third location of La Colombe opened near our apartment last week. Natural light, bar stools, tables for two. I like this table the best, the one I’m sitting at. Back against the wall, a view out. Peppermint tea and a slice of olive oil cake.

La Colombe doesn’t have the best coffee or tea. The breezy and carefree atmosphere however, makes up for both. It’s always busy, and yet you could spend hours here with no disruption. I recently joined Crunch – the gym next door, so this is my post-workout treat. Not a bad incentive to exercise, heheh. All the pastries are from Payard save for the olive oil cake which is a creation by Kate Jones, a local jeweler/baker.

Am fairly certain this sweet-savory slice of olive oil cake reverse any workout efforts. It’s hard to really care when you take that first bite. Golden, and incredibly moist with a dense crumb. Alas, it’s the thought that counts, no?

What's your goto tea there? Why did you decide to join Crunch (and not other gym chains)? Do you join classes or workout on machines? Yes, the incentive for exercising is always the post workout treat, :P

Hi Kim! I usually just get peppermint after the gym (don't want too much caffeine after working out ;) I joined Crunch because of the classes. Put me on a machine and I won't move, but in a class, I always have fun!!

Sounds like a healthy and wholesome choice! The classes you're taking (hot pilate!) sounds fun! I'm reluctant to join a chain gym, especially NYSC since it can get very expensive and I don't like to use machines (spell boring to me). But classes would surely get your money's worth. :)
