A Place to Work: Konditori

Shann introduced me to Konditori in Brooklyn’s Park Slope a few months ago.

At the time, this Swedish coffee shop had no name, but now they have a name, and even a logo! High ceilings and fans, free wifi, housemade pastries and a menu of coffee and tea. $3.25 for iced tea – a Harney & Sons tea bag, water and ice, is somewhat steep, but I just think of it as paying for the wifi. There’s a big communal table and smaller two-tops throughout the cafe, quiet and conducive to a day of work. They have a sister location on the Lower East Side, but the Park Slope location is more open, relaxing. A 30-minute train ride from my apartment to Park Slope and totally worth the time.

Hope everyone is staying cool today. 99F today and 105F tomorrow. Kat in Hawai’i- please send some of those breezy Honolulu tradewinds over this way!

Wow, that's right down the street from me! Say hi next time you're in the 'hood. 5th ave is turning into quite the dessert destination (ice cream, frozen yogurt, chocolate, etc).

I've worked there before. Try the little Italian place too, several blocks north on the same side of 5th Ave. They're very nice!
