At the Sanderson Hotel in London, a whimsical afternoon tea…
…in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. First…
…pick a tea. There are five options…
…each named after a main character. The Alice tea is a China black tea infused with blackcurrant, vanilla, caramel, citrus, bergamot, blue cornflowers, and blue mallow flowers.
Each tea comes with a different teapot…
…pour with care.
And then onto the menu.
Sandwiches and savories, hot (on the right) and cold (on the left):
- Scottish Smoked Salmon, Quail Egg, and Caviar Scotch Egg
- Wiltshire Ham and Smoked Applewood Croque-Monsieur
- Cornish Crab and Herb Eclair
- Cucumber and Cream Cheese on Fresh Lime Bread
On the bottom tier, the ever evolving Drink Me Potion followed by scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserves.
Queen of Hearts Oreo Cookie Soldier
Red Velvet Ladybug
The White Rabbit’s Pocket Watch Macaron
The Blue Caterpillar
Curious Carrot Meringues
Scroll back to the top photo of this post. See that flowerpot with grass? Look carefully and you’ll find Wonderland’s Magic Marshmallow Mushrooms tucked inside.
And for a sweet send off, from the Garden of Live Flowers, ice cream and cookies flowerpot.
P.S. Everyone loves the outdoor seating, but I find it more pleasurable inside. Warm and cozy ^-^
