18250959764_b42db5c661_cA summer day. A seaside lunch at Elsa in Monaco ^-^

I love the intensity of Le Louis XV, the decadence of Joël Robuchon, and indulgence of Le Grill

18685867740_7024e06164_c…but there is something very nice about how Elsa leaves you feeling fresh and clean.

18687378679_4375222a90_cWe start with barbajuan, a Monegasque specialty (will do a round-up of barbajuan in Monaco soon!)…

18252901023_78924ce64b_c…with a quartet of olive oils…

18687365479_7333349c78_c…poured tableside.

18685813438_5251625e43_cThis is Bio Sama, raw vegetables grown onsite. Asparagus, carrots, fennel, a variety of radishes. Shaved, twirled, and finished with olive oil and fleur de sel from Camargue (where I hope to visit one day).

18250973774_dbf7b89680_cA carpaccio of raw San Ramo shrimps, baby fennel, citrus, and caviar.

18685838180_1d1bb44c2f_cLocal red mullets, roasted with baby vegetables.

18250959764_b42db5c661_cAnd the Sicilian almond soufflé. A side of vanilla ice cream ^-^

18847252486_963a804695_cPetit fours (apricot pâte de fruit was my favorite)…

18873499425_0af7b893c4_c…and an infusion of thyme.
