The 9th Hawaiian Island

5pm Saturday at Four Seasons Lana’i Manele Bay

If I had three wishes, one of them would be to move the island of Manhattan closer to Hawai’i. In fact, we could put it left of Ni’ihau and call it the 9th* Hawaiian Island!

*Las Vegas is currently considered Hawaii’s 9th island.

I've been catching up on your blog after a long hiatus–found my old list of bookmarks. What a treasure, sifting through these new posts. I have to admit, though, that I can only handle your posts several at a time. I tend to overdose on the sumptuous photography, especially the subjects of the pictures. It's all too sensuously rich for me.I'm pretty sure I commented before that I love how you don't distinguish between high-end eateries, mom-and-pop places, and hole-in-the-wall locations. Your priority is the food taste, presentation, then decor. Your blog is aptly named: your passion comes through.I live in Kalihi and have passed Kamehameha Bakery numerous times. I remember hearing that they would bake risque cakes if asked to. Now I definitely have to make a point to stop by for the pastry deliciousness pictured in your earlier post.Keep up the excellent blogging. Okay now I have to open a can of Vienna sausage and braise it in soy sauce and a some butter, the eat it over hot rice. Yum!Aloha,Maratree

Knowing Kathy a little, and having had the pleasure of dining with her, I can assure her the she would never set foot into the California Casino, let alone eat or stay there. Pierre, no chance at all. Not ever…. Hope all is well…
