Two things I miss most from London….
1. The abundance of great Indian restaurants
2. Gelupo’s gelato!
I tried a total of 12 flavors (over multiple visits). Ricotta coffee and honey was my favorite…followed by pine nuts and fennel, pistachio, and the malted banana. Why don’t we have flavors like this in NYC? Il Laboratorio del Gelato should get on that.
A peek at the menu. They also do pastries and ice cream cakes. Ahhh so many sweets to devour and never enough time.
We went to a few other gelato places…
…including DriDri and Oddono’s, but Gelupo was still the best.

…chocolates from Paul A Young.
His superduperfamous brownies are not that amazing. They’re good, maybe great. Not amazing. Too fudgy and sweet. But his chocolates make the trip worthwhile.
The crazy flavors grab your attention (tom yum , marmite, tobacco!), but ultimately win you over because of the taste. My favorite was the sweet pea and mint. He also does ordinary flavors, but what’s the fun in that?
