It wasn’t until I organized my photo library that I realized just how much fried chicken I devour on a weekly basis. I welcome fried chicken in all forms, and at all times of the day. Luckily we’ve got more than our share of good fried chicken spots in NYC.
Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter– currently my favorite fried chicken spot. Worth the trek to Avenue C, order mac & cheese, grits, and collard greens. Don’t forget pecan bread pudding for dessert.
Blue Ribbon Bakery – this one is a classic. Comes with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Also must get the for dessert.
Momofuku Noodle Bar – a hassle because you have to plan ahead and reserve for this. But totally worth it. . One Southern-style and one Korean-style.
The Dutch – this one comes with slaw and not one but TWO honey-butter biscuits.
Sticky’s Finger Joint – slightly greasy, fast, and so right. Always fun to mix and match from their million different types of fried chicken fingers and dipping sauces.
Pok Pok Wing – the wings are a little too skinny, but that marinade. Seriously. Pair with the iced tamarind drinking vinegar and free pandan-infused water.
