The St. Regis Mexico City

Checking in at the St. Regis, Mexico City. Here on a work assignment and couldn’t be happier.

Macarons and champagne upon arrival.

Late lunch of guacamole and tortilla soup. Peppermint tea on the side. I always crave hot soup after plane rides. Flew AeromĂ©xico for the first time today. Minor drama at the airport (isn’t there always?) But we made it. And that’s all that matters.

More macarons with turn-down service.

Can’t wait to share photos from dinner. Jean-George launched his first Latin America restaurant at this St. Regis. It just opened last week and we were very lucky to taste a good portion of the menu (and all the desserts!) this evening.

The butler service here is over the top. And I can’t get over this bathroom television. Many hotels have televisions in the bathroom, but few like this. Flat and embedded into the mirror. I believe it’s officially called the “Electric Mirror.” Still oohing over it.

Am thinking maybe I don’t want to go back to reality in a few days ;)

Interesting how the color of the macaroons is so intense as opposed to the usual pale pastel. I wonder if that's a cultural thing.

Very Nice! The Peabody in Orlando has the TV as part of the mirror but for me (short) the TV ends up exactly where my face would be when shaving!Does the hotel normally use Macaron as their welcome and turn down amenity or have they been reading your blog?Alan

Hi Kat! I'm pretty sure Hawai'i is close to paradise as well. Or actually, Hawai'i IS paradise ;)Thanks Lisa! ^_^Hi Tracy! I was actually wondering the same. Came across a bunch of different local candies here and they all pop with color. Will make sure do a post on that ^_^Hi Alan! I'm here on assignment, but I believe the macarons come to every room. And the champagne FOR SURE. It's the first thing they offer you when you check in…can't beat that! The butler service is also complimentary for all guests. They put the tv low in the bathroom…a girl's gotta see the mirror to do her hair! :)
