Some women have a scent that people can identify as exclusively them in a heartbeat – it’s impressive. But what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for another, and perhaps that’s how I’ve come to accumulate a literal mountain of body mists, sprays and perfumes. Love them all and commit to none.
That makes it more whimsical because you can fill cabinets with bottles in a million colors. Polished glass is just as key as the scent and one is incomplete without the other. On Tuesday I joined April to celebrate Versace’s new fragrance, Yellow Diamond. A fragrance party! Complete with a balcony on 5th Avenue. One can dream right? I remember bubbles and warm lemon and pistachio tarts and silky truffle orbs in dark, milk, and coconut-white chocolate. Dark chocolate was the unanimous favorite.
The goal of Yellow Diamond? “Luxury, energy and warmth.” I always approach perfume as aspirational and there’s nothing wrong with that. Here it translates to: bergamot at the head, freesia at the heart and musk at the dry out. There are more elements involved, those are ones that stood out most. Spritz, spritz and off we go!
