Buvette

One of the benefits of working from home is that you can (usually) take lunch whenever and wherever. It’s a pretty perk not to be overlooked. Today, an early meal at Buvette with the talented photographer, Alice Gao. Two seats near a A tower of fresh bread and drizzles of olive oil. Always a sure start to a good meal.

To share, Poached Eggs over warm stewed beans and wilted leafy greens. Thin slices of toasted bread, complete with grated parmesan. The beans and greens combination reminded us of a Chinese pickled vegetable dish, the type you eat with a bowl of jook…perhaps that why we enjoyed it so much.

I’ve been craving good salads all week, and this Poulet et Pomme Salad did the trick. Tangles of frisee and lettuces, a light mustard vinaigrette. Stellar roast chicken (dark meat only please!) piled over buttery potatoes and haricot verts. Immensely satisfying and…couldn’t be that hard to re-create at home, no?

Then a short walk for Earl Grey tea at La Colombe – if you haven’t been to this new Lafayette location, do check it out…there’s much to love.
