It's That Time Again...

Afternoon in the Marais, Fall 2010

Guess what? We are going to Paris in a week!

Last year we did a week each in Paris and Brittany. This time we'll be visiting Paris, Alsace, and Strasbourg. We might even go to Germany for a day, fingers crossed.

I can already taste the canelés, macarons, ispahans, and puits d'amour ^_^

Any new places (or old favorites) I should check out? Let me know, s'il vous plaît!

hello katie!
i'm French, i enjoy reading your foodblog (loved posts about Hawaii!!) and i would like to recomand a lovely authentic brasserie in Paris. Its is called Le BOUQUET, located in St Paul station, the exact address is :
Au Bouquet Saint Paul, 85, Rue Saint Antoine , 75004 Paris
Tél : 01 42 78 55 03
The plat du jour is always delicious and fresh, it is real French food and the waiters are profesionnals but quite cold ...very Parisian indeed!
hope you can make it there, have fun while in Paris

Pairs is very nice and so is hawaii as everyone knows. I saw anthony bourdain recently on tv and he went to a restaurant that was very contemporary. It was so interesting to see a very young chef do such innovative things. I'd look into that show and you'll see immediately which restaurant i'm referring to. I think there's only a very few tables.

I love les Papilles in the fifth. And bread and roses is delicious, too. You could even take your lunch half a block over to Luxembourg garden to enjoy! Of course, there is also Le Comptoir du Relais which is still very good.

Hi Foodista - thanks for all the tips - so helpful! :)

Thanks Kat! I really want to make it to Hawai'i while you are still there, but I seem to be making it to everywhere EXCEPT back home this summer!

Hi Rukia! Thank for the suggestion, will definitely try to check it out. Sounds amazing!!!

Hi Phil! Would you be talking about town or Green Door? :)

Hi Earlybrdies! Will check that out! Am hoping Le Comptoir will be open...forgot so many places are closed in August! :)

Kathy,

How fortunate. I wish I were going to Paris too. Maybe you can go to Frenchie, Le Chateaubriand or Passage 53 if you have time. Have a great time!

I'm French and please don't miss one of the 2 best Italian restaurants that I know in Paris :

Presto Fresco - 14 rue Montmartre - 1st arrondissement

Gambino - 6 rue Gomboust - 1st arrondissement (near Opera)
