Hefei, China: A Box of Tea

This is a tea leaf. Perfectly flat, a fresh, deep shade of green.

While we were in Hefei (capital city of Anhui Province in China), a very special friend gave us this case. The case itself is quite heavy and elaborately finished. I hand-carried it all the way back to NYC.

Inside, a boxed set of two green teas. Such delicate leaves. Am in total awe. And almost scared to touch in case they shatter. Not sure what the “official” name of the tea is…but I just put on the kettle. Friday afternoon tea time.

Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!
