I recently mentioned small portions were the to go when it comes to buying tea. They allow you to taste/drink a great variety before committing to a full-size container. And for those who have a ton of tea at home…tea doesn’t last forever (aside from pu-erhs, fresh is better!), so this helps from having an overstock of teas past their prime.
I’m always have a sharp eye out for tasting kits, something to give a better grasp on a company’s signature line of teas and this D-Tube Casket by Dammann Frères is understandably a current obsession. Three of their iconic teas in petite 30 gram containers (which I’ve written on before): L’Oriental, Gout Russe, and Jardin Bleu. I keep saying that I’m going to try them all but l’Oriental, a cheery sencha with strawberries and peaches seems to be the ideal daily pairing to this week’s crazy weather of rain and wind. And don’t forget – especially when it comes to gift giving, packaging is (almost) everything ;) I’ve totally used this tube, complete with leather straps, as an evening clutch to great success.
