Shann Sent Me Porn.

Malassada porn ;)

She was lucky enough to fly home for the 2009 Punahou Carnival and surely ate her share of malassadas, in addition to teri-burgers and taco salad. It's been FIVE years since I last attended my high school carnival. The malassadas, piping hot, sugar-dusted, super crunchy on the outside and all melty, eggy on the inside and SO CRAZY CRAZY DELICIOUS, alone are worth the flight to Hawai'i. Ok. Next year. Tax season or not. I am going home for malassadas.

My goodness. I think I just slobbered all over the computer.

Happy Monday!

My 10 year old son went to the Punahou Carnival with his friend. He was very thoughtful and brought back malassadas for our family. It was super ono! We had a few leftover and ate them later in the day. And they were still ono! This is a malassada with lasting power - I was impressed!

Oh man, those look delicious!! I have a friend who attends Punahou and now I am curious as to why he never told me about this carnival, let alone the yumminess to be found there. haha
I've an avid reader of your blog, btw~

The Punahou malassadas ARE the best in Hawaii, bar none. Did you ever try the lilikoi ones at Chef Mavro?

Hi Anon!
That is REALLY sweet of your son...I don't think I would have had the willpower to get them all the way home uneaten, hehehe. And if you still have any leftover now, old malassadas make great bread pudding!

Hi Sakura-iro!
Thanks for the comment! Oh man, I can't believe your friend never told you about Punahou malassadas...that's the first thing that comes to mind when I think of my high school! :)

Kat!
Yess, I agree! :D

Hi Madam Chow!
Yesss I have! I actually worked in the pastry kitchen at Chef Mavro one summer - I ate farrr too many of those lilikoi malassadas, hehe ^_^
